How current is it?

Every answer can check tenancy.govt.nz and legislation.govt.nz live, so law changes, current filing fees and bond processes are up to date — and each answer lists the sources it used.

Which side does it take?

Neither. The law is the law; the consultant serves buyers, sellers and both sides of a fence neutrally — it will tell you when your own position is weak, which is worth as much as being told you're right.
